California Sister

This is the first California Sister (Adelpha bredowii) I have seen at our house. I had enough time to get the camera before it flew off. The larval host plants is oak...so with all the oak around here I wonder why there aren't more. Before all the development around here I used to see the similar Lorquin's Admiral (Limenitis lorquini) around the house. Host plant for the Lorquin's Admiral include Cottonwood, Willow and Aspen.
